This article is talking about how different cultures and religions have special meals that they cook on special occasions or certain things that can or cannot eat. It talks about the importance of food in the culture and different ways to thank your "god" for food. In some religions they bless the food before they eat it. Some cultures believe that if you kill an animal for food you have to use every part of the animal for something useful or else it would be a waste of the animal and the animal would have died for nothing. People believe that food is a gift from their god and they should not take advantage of that. I think that it is good that these religions think that their food is very important and that they don't take advantage of it because they don not know if they will have any the next day. I think that us as americans take food for granted because we know that we will have food on the table at least 3 times a day and we know that if we are hungry in between we can always go grab a snack were in some cultures they have a hard time getting just one thing to eat a day but they are always thankful for what they get.
